The Lead Man
“Think Local Atlanta is taking a more holistic approach to influence students and provide opportunities for a brighter future.”– Simmons
Jordan Simmons | VP of Marketing
Jordan Simmons Atlanta roots run deep, with family members living in the city since the late 1800s. While most of his youth was spent in southwest Atlanta, he moved to Clayton County in his teens where he graduated from Riverdale High School. Throughout his youth, he was involved in athletics, with his love for football leading to a college scholarship. After graduating from Jacksonville State University with a bachelor’s degree in communications, Simmons returned to Atlanta to begin a journey of empowerment, influence, and self-reliance.
As a native Atlantan, Simmons wants all youth to have the same opportunities to excel and make a difference in the community as he did. Through Think Local Atlanta, he’s looking to enhance and expand the organization’s capabilities to help provide underserved youth with resources that would otherwise not be available to them through channels such as enhanced educational development, exposure to the arts, after school activities and more. By partnering with nonprofits already working to impact youth in the community, Think Local Atlanta is taking a more holistic approach to influence students and provide opportunities for a brighter future.
Outside of his role in Think Local Atlanta, Simmons continues his community engagement by volunteering as a head football coach at William Walker Recreation Center (aka Ben Hill Recreation) in southwest Atlanta, where he’s currently coaching a team of players ages six and under. As a father of three, Simmons uses both his professional and personal time to help all children have the same opportunities and positive role models as his own. Leading by example, he’s paving the way for the next generation of his family to continue their legacy of making a positive impact in the community.
